Olivia Sanchez Brown is an artist and curator. Her art practice is currently in Echo Park, just west of Downtown Los Angeles. She has exhibited and organized exhibitions in the Los Angeles area since the 1970s. She is a collaborative spirit, working with artists and writers on various projects, installations and art performances. Most recently, her work was included in Mothers, Eggshells and the People Who Birth Us, a group exhibition of spoken word, performance, and art installation curated by Kim Abeles at Keystone Art Space. Olivia’s work has also been featured in recent exhibitions at LA Artcore, Craft & Folk Art Museum, Armory Center for the Arts, and Café Cultural to name a few. She has curated exhibitions, such as Staring Intently at a Sound: The Studio Practice of Mac McClain, a retrospective exhibit of McClain’s work from 1945-2012. Olivia was also a part of the Woman’s Building and participated in Doin’ It In Public: Feminism and Art at the Woman’s Building, part of the Madre Tierra Press Exhibit at Otis College of Art and Design in the Ben Maltz Gallery, Pacific Standard time:  Art in LA 1945-1990.
